Got to fish the Flint today. Caught a bunch of Shoalies. No 23 inchers, but a lot in the size range in the image. Very fun to give the trout a break and just fish for something else.

Also caught a red breast and a gar which was really cool.

Talbot County?

Floated the public section upstream of Sprewell Bluff park.

Went with Allen Ragsdale of Fall Line Guide Service. I can’t recommend Allen enough.

Had a trophy on at one point, but I flubbed the hook set because I was talking.

Thanks for sharing! My parents live in Manchester and have always wanted to try the Flint. Did you put in at Hwy 74 bridge and float to Sprewell Bluff? Thinking of wading around at Sprewell Bluff one of these days. I've hear Big Lazer is good as well.

We definitely floated down to Sprewell Bluff Park. I don’t remember where we put in exactly, but it looked like private land. It was off a dirt road (not hghwy 74).

The best thing I can tell you is to book a trip with Allen Ragsdale (Fall Line Guide Service).

His rates are really affordable for guided fishing and I’m sure he can answer whatever questions you have.

I don’t want to tell you the wrong thing and get you in trouble.

I’m not affiliated with the guide service in anyway (just a satisfied client).

I have no idea where a good legal put in would be and the legality is something I’d be concerned about. There’s a guy (the son of the big cheese at Flint River Keeper) leasing a chunk of the Flint and they’re writing tickets on his behalf now so it’s worth it to make sure you color within the lines so to speak.

That is why I suggest just going with a pro one time.
