Anybody know a good but less expensive tire for these? My old trusted tire dealer retired and I can't remember what brand we put on our old jeep. These are 225/75R16.
Toyo open county are the best budget friendly tire for trucks n jeeps. Hands down. They last a long time and handle well.

I pretty much do Michelins at Costco. The new Cross Climate 2 is a great 70k tire. Have those on 2. The KO2s on the other two.
Wish we had a Costco close by. Nearest one is still at least an hour away. They keep talking about bringing one to Warner Robins.

You're like me, Little Brother. You buy one and drive it till it just won't go anymore then finally get another one. I've only had 6 vehicles in my life and I plan for my present Tacoma to last me the rest of my life.
If you decide to upgrade I can get you a good deal from an Amish guy this Fall when I go back to New York hunting. :biggrin3: :rofl:IMG_7807.jpeg

I have run KO/KO2 since 2012. New truck is coming with GY wranglers. Might try to get some miles on them.

Truck came off the line June 6th and still not here, so they might dry rot by time I get the blasted thing.

I've had 2 with that straight 6 and Daddy had one my Nephew wound up with.

They are fantastic engines and I've always said the 6 quart oil pan was a big plus.

I'd buy one now if I could find one that looks decent. The engines are easy to work on and you can get to everything without tearing it down to the ground.

On our old 98 Grand Cherokee, even an amateur mechanic like me was able to change radiators, water pumps, harmonic balancers, alternators, and belts without any special tools other than a gear puller. That's one reason I wanted another since I knew that engine pretty well.

I've not had good luck with Goodyear for the most part, but it's been quite a while...for the last 23 years I've had only Michelins or BFGs.

Yeah goodyears wear out and get choppy. They also seperate a good bit. I hate goodyears for truck tires.

I mostly run BFG tires on my vehicles, I have had good luck with Good Year tires but Cooper tires, worst set I ever had installed on my truck, never again.

I found a low mileage (112,000) 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and decided to pick it up for a short trip, around town, grocery getter. It's the last year they used the old AMC 4 liter straight 6 cylinder engine that will run for over 250,000 miles if you take care of it. We had a 1998 model that we put over 265,000 miles on and just lucked up on this one, plus the Carfax came back with nothing major on it.
I had been looking for an older Buick with the 3.8 liter V6 but this will do. I did some maintenance stuff on it yesterday and will be taking it in for a couple of new tires and some shocks and suspension work on normal wear and tear stuff. Hopefully it will be as good to us as the last one was.
