Maybe worth trying in Georgia. On Monday the 18th we got 10 flushes in the Nanthahala NF in NC. 2 types of areas seemed to produce: closed logging roads planted to clover, near streams, and bordered by pole age or younger timber (4-10" in dia.)-the birds were feeding in the roads or loafing in the roadside cover; second area was on ridge tops or side of ridge with thick mid-thigh cover, 2-age timber stands, with plenty of chestnut oaks acorns on the ground.
We covered a minimum of 8 miles...turned around after 4 miles straight line from the truck, so put on your boots and get ready to walk. We hunted from about 8am-5pm and it was tough...up & down, but still beat a day at work!
