First out of state trip

Putting my schedule together for the season, looking to make at least 1 out of state trip with the pup to hunt grouse or woodcock. I’ve been told Wisconsin or Michigan. Just want to go somewhere that we can kick a few birds up without driving 30 hours. Y’all have any recommendations?

New York is supposed to be pretty good a buddy of mine went up and had nothing but good things to say.
