Lake Sinclair Crooked Creek Area

Going to be in the area next weekend. Any tips, suggestions pointers. Looking to try and get the family on a couple specs (crappie) or stripers. Thanks in advance. Taking the boat with us.

Always a few crappie in Crooked Creek trolling when you go under the bridge.
Hit the points and cove mouths trolling in rooty creek and you’ll run into crappie and stripers.

Caught these today in. Crooked Creek. I’m fishing trees with jigs and minnows.

Minnows? Where can you buy or can you catch enough off the dock with a minnow trap?

If you are staying around the crooked creek area. The store on pearidge rd. across from dollar general has minnows. You can possibly catch some shad with a cast net also.

Terry’s One Stop on Scuffleboro Rd usually has minnows as well. It’s a good spot for biscuits and burgers too.

Didnt catch any specs, but caught some stripers, bass, bream and cats. Very few boats out and most were duck hunters.

Fish the flats in any of the creeks right now with red wigglers on or near the bottom and you should be able to catch plenty of shellcracker or catfish.

If you are staying on the lake and the place has a dock, keep a rod or 2 out with a live or cut bream on it. Big catfish in that area:
