Life by the Spirit

When lust, fear or disappointment rage against us, tempting us toward ugly conclusions, we move toward God. “Savior! I know you’re in me, so I look to you for your ability and grace. You’re what I need.” Lo and behold, He who is at home in us sees to what’s going on in His house. He who finds no fault with us—none—recognizes the assault, takes the blows and turns the fight. Afterward? We’re filled with His success: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control.

Romans 5:11-14
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

See you later,

I hope you don't mind a personal testimony.

One of the few times as an adult I have enjoyed being put in headlock and escorted "off the premises" was simply in asking (after waiting in line in order to approach with questions) one of those considered a "giant" in the grace cottage industry that was springing up. And my question was not as particularly pointed as it might be today as it only had to do with the manhandling of a brother that had taken place previously.

"How do you condone your followers "out here" in the audience to lay hands on another brother who issued no threat to you" That's as far as I got, and I heard no response.

I would ask brother Ralph what spirit persuaded him to "his own" ministry with his own name attached.

To see sectarianism in its most incipient forming is no less ugly than seeing it full blown.

I guess if one is distracted by a ministry title or personal name associated with ones ministry then, indeed, one would hardly glean anything from the ministry.

And I guess I'm a gleaner, a learner in any truth of grace that comes from whatever source.

I'm quite surprised. You're not one to throw out the baby with the bathwater, after all, you read the likes of me!

Nevertheless we all get our examination from Providence, titles neither breakingnor making the man.

And yes, lol, I really did try to make ol Ralph's picture smaller. It got autocorrected on it's own when I copied the entirely of the note.

Walk from your true ID, amen. There's health in that from Jesus we can enjoy.
