logging company recommendation

Middle georgia timber- if anyone is looking for a good company and a foreman that knows his business get with them . I can't express enough how these guys bent over backwards to make sure I was happy .They've got some great equipment and some great operators. You've never seen a cleaner cut . Jason went over the land with me and we flagged and flagged . It is now designed for replanting and leaving the hardwood fingers for hunting purposes . Jason is a hunter and he knew what I wanted and needed and they finished out clean as a whistle . They worked thru bad weather but persevered to finish and made me happy . He was the 4th man I talked to before hiring someone and I know I did the right thing. If anyone wants to talk further don't hesitate to call them or me

How did they leave everything? Tops and limbs and such?
that's one of the things i was so surprised about . They didn't just run off with a bunch of trees bent over and looking like a bomb hit . they cut most and layed them on the ground to rot .I'm talking about the little worthless trees . They seemed to squeeze out every dollar they could and separated pulp from saw timber , hardwoods and left the land looking good instead of an eyesore . then they piled up all the tree tops from the loader area in organized piles to be burnt here in about a year . amazing . the little trees that weren't cut will get killed in the spray

I’m hearing $51.00 ton for saw timber now in SW ga. How did u make out money wise? Of course you could have sold a while back I know they usually have a year to get the timber and pricing could be better or worse in your area. PM if you don’t want to reply on a forum or don’t reply if you don’t want to lol. Looks nice what they did for u!

I got 33 for saw timber. I believe it has a lot to do with how far they have to take it to the mill. We had to go to Augusta

Tenfo. That’s still a good price and u are correct the location of the mill is part of the pricing
Among other things. The size of your tract. Methods. Mine was kinda broke up which I'm sure slowed things down. Like anything else, a lot goes into deal. You got your trees all in rows and you're close to a mill you'll get a better price than natural growth a long way from a mill. My son and grandbabies will do very well in about 30 years the way I'm setting it up now
