I sold my bow!

Ok, not MY Bow, but yes, my first bow. Neighbor across the street has a son who was asking a bunch of questions and checking me out while outside slinging some arrows. Of course I’m happy to chat and talk up archery. Afterwards, I was kicking myself for not offering my first bow to them. It’s just hanging up and not getting used, but it’d make a great first bow.……this was maybe a month ago.
Fast forward this am and the dad came over to let me know his wife put some flowers on the porch for my wife to get the seeds from…..super nice folks! I remembered wanting to offer the bow so I grabbed it real quick and showed it to him. I handed him the bow and told him if they were interested I’d let him have it for $50. I also sent him home with a tru fire wrist release and informed him I had a new string to go with it. An hour or so goes by and they are walking back across the street without the bow. Jesse, the young kid says he’d like to keep the bow and handed me $50. I shook his hand and congratulated him on his first bow! Dad said they’d go to Cabela’s and get some arrows and a target. I let him know Cabela’s can put the new string on and set the bow up for him at no charge.
Man what an awesome morning! I think maybe I was as excited as Jesse was to get his first bow! Jesse’s dad Eddie said he may get himself a bow too………yeah, it was a really good day!

I sold my first bow at a garage sale. I wasn't actually selling it but they saw it and made an offer. It was a Bear Pro Specialist I got in the early 90's. I didn't use it but still regret it just because all the memories.

That's a good feeling. I just sold an Elite to a buddy of mine's son. I sold it to him for $500. It was loaded with a custom G.A.S string that I put on it last year, five arrows, slider sight, and a true fire release. I could have gotten more, but I felt good about him getting it and he's ready to roll!

Hopefully you replaced it with a Mathews :)

I went with the intentions to, but I walked away with a Hoyt. They just always fit like a glove for me. Can't go wrong these days with whatever you like. The technology is insane. I've had a lot of passions throughout my life, and shooting a bow is the only one that has stuck going on forty years now.

I’ve only been shooting a few years, but it has certainly become a passion of mine Too! Jesse loves to fish and has a passion for the outdoors. I’m glad his dad is “all in” .

New life to an old bow is always a good thing!
