Looking for beaver trapping opportunity

Hey there, I'm brand new never been trapping and would like to try to trap some beavers. If I don't get at least two "beaver" trapping jokes I'll be disappointed in you folks. I'm in the Athens area and if anyone knows of any contacts to entertain a 40-something trapping newbie, I'd really appreciate a nudge in the right direction. Thanks!

There are opportunities out there. You just have to drive around and find them. I have a Beaver swamp by my house I have driven by for 5 years. The land is for sale. So I called the owner and she said she had been trying to get the county out there for years to trap them. I got free range of that property with no problem. The only thing they can say is no. Most people want them gone anyways. We caught three beavers , three otters, two muskrat and 6 coons in a few weeks there. It is my first year trying for beavers also. Just be honest with them and keep them updated on what you catch. Good luck!!
