We've been visiting the mountains of WNC the last few years for vacation, due to my oldest daughter venturing that way. The wife and I fished a little last summer with spinners and caught some rainbows. I wanted to try the fly, but wasn't able to arrange a lesson/trip and didn't want to try and self teach - create bad habits. I've been fishing for over 45 years, but never with a fly rod.
My daughter got married this past spring and is living up there, so when we planned a visit I planned a trip. I took the new SIL along and we had a great day, yesterday! Our guide was patient, a great coach and had us in the fish all day. We both caught our first on the fly and I'm afraid the "bug" to be going back for a lot more!
