The North Georgia Traditional Archery Club will host a two-day event on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 2295 Lee Land Road in Gainesville, GA. Shooting will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The course will be open until 6:00 p.m. Shooting can begin at safe shooting light on Sunday and will end by 3:00 p.m.

We will set 24 targets in the woods at varying distances from a single stake. Shoot from the stake or from any point you desire between the stake and the target, depending on your level of confidence in your shooting ability. The course will be adequately marked so it will be easy to find your way around. Better yet, shoot with someone who is familiar with our layouts and make a new friend. Shoot the course as many times as you’d like for one low price.

We will have a coon shoot at the practice range on Saturday evening beginning shortly after dark. All participants in the coon shoot will pay a $5 entry fee and the winning shooter will win the pot, which will be the total entry fees from all participants.

Camping will be available for this weekend event. Feel free to bring your tent and other gear you’ll need to spend the night. We have no electricity or running water on site. We will have water available on site in portable containers. We have no space for RV trailers or motorhomes of any kind, so plan on your tent. Pick-up campers are fine, however, as these can be accommodated in our regular parking spaces.

We will not serve lunch on Saturday for this shoot. Bottled water and soft drinks will be available for sale during the event. Price for soft drinks is $1 each and water will sell for four for $1.

We will serve supper on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. If you’d like to join us for supper, we ask for a $5 donation per person to help cover our food costs. We will have a sign up sheet for supper at the registration table.

Kids under 12 years of age shoot free.

The no charge provision for first time shooters is waived for this shoot.

NOTE: All shooters and spectators must register at the registration tent upon arrival.

There will be no lunch served on Saturday or Sunday for this event.

At the North Georgia Traditional Archery Club, we define traditional archery equipment to include longbows, recurve bows, and primitive bows.

Please, no compound bows, crossbows, or any equipment that does not fit our definition of traditional bows. Loaner bows and arrows are available for anyone who doesn’t have their own equipment. Let us know at the registration tent if you need to borrow any equipment.

You won't need them. We will be shooting in the dark, that's for sure. But your target will be illuminated with those cute little glow in the dark bracelet kits that Walmart sells. It's a blast.
