Odd minnows

Bought a few dozen minnows from the local bait shop this morning and while fishing I noticed a few had these weird black specs inside of them. I’ve never seen this before, any idea what it is?

Google says "black spot disease", but apparently it doesn't hurt them. It's caused by parasitic tapeworms.

I only caught one crappie so I’m gonna blame the minnows.

It’s pretty common for them to have spots. Not to the extent of that one pictured though
