Slick Tikka stock

I'm posting the link to a post I made last year about how I painted my Tikka stock to be less slick. Someone wondered how well it would look after some use. It's been a year now and the rifle got used a lot last year. The new finish looks just like it did last year. No chipping or peeling. The success of any rifle finish depends on how well and thorough the prep work was done before finishing.
One of the biggest complaints I hear about the Tikka T3 is how slick the stock is so I thought it might be a good time to bring this thread back.

The Tikka T3 stock has a large empty cavity in the butt stock and it is quite noisy. When I painted my stock I filled my stock with small pieces of pipe insulation cut into pieces and pressed as tight as possible into the stock.
It worked well but this might be a better way of filling the butt with foam.
