The Oracle
Found a good spot near a bridge..
Caught my first fish about 2 miles up stream
45 or so years ago..
Stopped by a few days ago just to look..
4 bass piled up.. (no rods in the truck)
Looked like a good place for turtle as well......
So, Me and my running bud went back and threw some
small crank baits.. One bass and a few shellcrackers.
Laid out a few limb hooks wanting a turtle or a few flatheads.
Wore out some tater' chips today on worms and crickets. 25-30.
Most were shellcrackers and a few bluegill..
Eating size but not big.
All our lines the previous day were bare hooks
except 1 turtle..
(deer heart and liver, pretty tough with cut brim and some store bought gizzards)
So, we have wading depth all the way down to over
the head deep holes.
Where are the BIG shellcrackers?
Plenty of dime size clam shell on the sand bars..
Plenty of minnows every where you look.
Working on getting a few baskets going.
Need a hint on where to get mama' and papa' shellcracker
and bluegill on a rod.
Close to a highway. But I bet nobody is fishing it.
No trash, and only way in are game trails.
