Anybody been doing any catching around st cats?

Saturday we kept 6 Trout and a surprise Spanish. Caught several throwback trout, no Reds or Flounder found.

Sunday we kept 4 whiting and 1 trout. We didn't fish long Sunday, the wife wanted to spend her day at the beach.

Whiting were caught off the north end of St. Cats (beach fishing) on cut squid. Trout and Spanish were all caught on Artificials ( Zman trout trick and Gulp shrimp) under a popping cork.

Thanks, were yall fishing back in the creeks or out around the sound for trout and reds?

Both. We fished Johnson's Creek (between 125 - 127), Cattle Pen and Walburg (St Cats Dock to St. Cats Sound) The key was finding good structure and clean water.

Yeah looks like it picks up through the weekend. Going to try to catch the outgoing tide later this am I think (assuming we can find some bait). My middle son requested to play hooky from school today so planning to get out after a couple meetings this morning.

Made the drive up from St. Simons for a change in scenery and to fish the outgoing tide in some old favorites around Sapelo Sound. We got there about 11:00 and it was breezy but not bad. By the time we got to our spot, it was real breezy. We poked around in some creeks and had a couple bites, nothing great. I called it quits at 2:00 when the wind turned up to about a constant 30mph out of the NE. The sound on the way in was sporty and it was just me and my 6 year old son.

Got home to SSI and the water was dead flat. Should've stayed home...
