The smell of heaven

My gardenia bushes are loaded with flowers and my wife,who is terminally affected with pulmonary fibrosis, says that must be what heaven smells like.
I hope she's right.

I love the smell of a gardenia myself. Funny short story...

I had a hog catchin' bulldog that was cut, scarred, and as evil as the devil himself against a wild hog.

Around anything or anybody else, he was the nicest and gentlest dog ever.

We had a big gardenia bush at the corner of the house, and when it bloomed, that terror of a hog dog would stand there sniffing it forever...He loved it. I may have an old picture of him with his nose against the gardenia blossoms...

When I was in college, I had a girl sit in front of me every day in a math class that smelled like cookies. I told her I loved her and what is that perfume. She said it was vanilla extract. She then told me to stop bothering her.

We have one planted right beside our front porch. It along with a Tea olive planted on the other side of the porch and some confederate Jasmine close by makes a porch sit pretty nice this time of year.
