Trap those hogs, I do.

Trying to show a hog trap made with two cattle panels, and a door I made that slides up and down. Pulley at the top for the rope from the door to go through, then down to a trigger device made with a stob driven into the ground. Where another notched stick is caught onto to hold the door up. Leave a long tail to that stick for hogs to hit and set the trap off. Small pigs can go through cattle panels, but smaller gauge wire can be wrapped around the bottom half.

Big hogs are destructive, so you can't tie this trap down too much. I use available trees and T post about ever three feet.

Yep..Gotta tie ‘em down good..or a BIG hog will carry that trap with him ?! 5/8- 3/4 Rebar really helps when placed about every 2-3’ & is easy to drive in & pull out,if needed. One other thing I’ve found to help catch more & smarter ones is to camouflage the opening of the trap. Zip tie a few small trees to the framework & it seems to be a lot less “spooky”. I’m about to get back on them myself. Have to clean some traps out & get feeders back up & running. Dec-March is THE time to condition & catch hogs ?

Big sow made cubed pork steaks, sausage, and some ground pork to mix with the next deer I process. I do my own. Plus I put up the shoulders to grill later.
