Where is the current point of drastic diminishing returns on optics?

as I have aged my driving distance has diminished
as I have aged hitting a 1.6" target at 300 has gotten easier
I guess you must have missed my# 11 and rmp's post. The main purpose of my comments were that a 3-9X50 Burris couldn't do everything for everyone. Maybe that was the reason that scopes fall in different price groups. One size doesn't fit all, and the reason for the vast array.
