Which sub 10hp boat motor would you buy?

For motors I don't think anything will beat a Tohatsu. As for size and since it is a 14 ft boat I would suggest a 9.9 h.p. The difference is price verses h.p. you come out better with the 9.9. I have been using Tohatsu motors since 1985 when I bought a 25. That 25 is still running on a 14 ft. boat today.

I vote for Suzuki 9.9 EFI 4 stroke. Would not buy anything that was not EFI. I have a 9.9 Suzuki EFI electric start with tilt and remote controls on a 15 ft. tracker. it will push the boat and 2 "grown" men, 2 batteries and 6 gal of fuel 17 mph.

7 years ago the motor was around $2500. I am sure they are over $3K now.
