Knee pads and floor padding helps the body not hurt from the sharp cabinet edges and contortions needed for said project.

There was soft rubber mat in front of the sink. I added a layer of seat cushion to that. Then put my tail mate gel cushion on that. It made getting up and down tolerable. Still a contortion act for a fat man.
