I need some help. I've never hunted River Bend and need some help with possible areas to scout or a map that is better than the one on the hunt ga web site. Anyone have any ideas?
I was down there several years ago - It's super thick! The folks who did the best got on good trails leading from the cutovers... They said they would position themselves to have the sun to their backs and shining into the cut overs - These were some of the people I talked to who scored on some of the nice bucks that place holds -- Good luck - Hope this helps a bit...
don't know if this map is any better than the one you mentioned, but go to www.georgiaoutdoors.com and you can find maps for wma's on that site. River Bend is one that is listed there.
not sure where that WMA is located but I have found an excellant site for online topos and aerial photos. IT may take some time to find your way around the site but it is very much worth the effort. www.terraserver.microsoft.com
All free images. I print with water proof ink to waterproof paper.
see next post for some helpful instructions
with a little practice you can probably find an aerial image of your house. It is pretty neat.
1.) at main page hit advanced find
2.) click place
3.) type in town and state and hit go
4.) click on tha available image you want
5.) click the map size to large (left side)
6.) zoom or scrol image til u get to the image you want
7.) and then, this is important, hit download at top
8.) then follow instructions
you can copy and paste that image to a word document and print it out
