Some people can’t help being crooked

We put in a lunch market where you just grab what you want and pay at the kiosk. We had a meeting to advise there are cameras inside the coolers and all over the lunch room.
We now are firing people for pocketing energy drinks and not paying.
Who loses a job over $3?

Are you the sole proprietor?

A lot of places, especially in areas where a lot of petty theft exists, they are either locking things up like Walgreens or putting in armored vending machines.

I read a recent study about the most profitable and economical business and the #1 is a Laundromat.
I believe it too. Every one you go past is full and maintenance is relatively easy compared to other ventures.

We put in a lunch market for the warehouse workers. It’s just an upgrade on vending machines. The company sends the videos of the attempts.

This day and age, many human beings are total idiots and thieves. I would hate to know I have a business that relies on others to help run the business. Hiring a employee must be a absolute nightmare presently. Good luck with your venture.

Well... at a minimum I'd say the people you've fired so far.

To address the question fully, a lot of people. They live by the "I want it. I deserve it. I'm taking it."

Naw im being serious though. Was is clearly a pay thing or did you have some stupid folks that thought it was free?
We knew we had some folks that may have thought it was free. We had a meeting to advise them the cameras are in the coolers, at the pay kiosk and it’s exactly like a convenience store with self pay.

Many of the automotive shops I've worked in over the years tried the honor system snack trays, even with techs that made good money, many of them didn't pay half the time, they trays usually didn't last but a month or two, the people would always pull them out . Can't trust 99% of people , no matter where it is

I’m surprised you have any employees at that warehouse the way you talk. :ROFLMAO:

I don’t doubt for a minute anything you say though. Places like that are full of riff raff.

@sinclair1 I know I’ve shared the story about my employees stealing catered lunches:

Most of the female support staff at my company would bring in their own to go boxes on catered lunch days and make 3,4,5 and even 6 huge plates of food for themselves and their families. Apparently they were putting them in coolers in the trunks of their cars.

They would make off with about half the food between the time the caterer finished set up and lunchtime. By the time the product and engineering teams would show up the food would be picked over.

I sent out an email clarifying expectations. They still did it. Finally, I set up a hidden Wi-Fi cam in the employee lounge. Every single one of these ladies lied about their involvement until I confronted them with video. And then they claimed that they were entitled to take whatever they could. Spent the afternoon firing people.

People think this is a joke until they have to deal with it.

At my corporate office, they put all that stuff out for free. No need to worry about theft when it's free!
It’s that way at our corporate office too. Different clientele. You ever see those videos when food stamps went unlimited? It would work like that. We have several box lunch days each month that are free. We have 146 employees.
