well I'm gonna go see if any gobblers at the huntin club.
Long drive for just a mornin hunt.
Was supposed to be there all day yesterday but the rain kept me away.
Good luck folks! Looks like from this weeks kill thread that the gobblers are out n about this week!!

My Tennessee huntin friend done moved to Idaho a couple years ago so I lost my Tenn connection

No gobblers were harmed on my mornin hunt.
I did scare one off the roost though. Thought he was further. I reckon my ears are gettin older like the rest of me.
I managed to find another one gobbling. Set up on him and called to him. His hen started complaining in between us. So I thought it was a no go for him. But I managed to call her in, then she circled around behind me so I thought I was sittin perfect!! I called to him and he answered every time but he wouldn't budge.
I don't know if he was struttin for other hens??? Or if he is call shy????
I don't know how to tell the difference. But he did not come in. Then I guess he left.

I've gotta work all day. But I know if you're huntin the gobblers should be gobblin great!!
Back in the day before the turkey decline I used to could hear em from my garage on an April mornin this clear and crisp

I gots 1 more day of hard work then I have a 4 day weekend! I'm pretty excited!
I'll hunt by myself some but I'll be huntin with BIL a lot too, He can't see, can't shoot, can't whisper and can't walk but he's helpin put in spring food plots so he'll be there! He can drink with the best of em and can tell stories bout the good ol times like nobody's business! It'll be fun!
