I made by own using a dough from Cook's Country.

2 cups AP flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
6 tbsp unsalted melted butter
1/2 cup milk

Put the first 3 ingredients in a food processor (not stand mixer). Pulse a few times to mix good. Add cooled melted butter and pulse 8-10 times until it looks like wet sand. Then add milk and pulse until incorporated and looks like pebbles.

Turn that out on a floured surface and turn into a disk shape. Cut into 8 equal pieces (or my case 16). Roll into ball and flatten slightly. Cover and put in fridge for 20 minutes to cool.

Take out and roll to circle and fill with filling. Crimp and clean edge. You are ready to fry.

I didn't use a recipe so I can't tell you particulars, but my dough was SR flour, sugar, salt, hog lard, 2 eggs and some buttermilk.

Flour, sugar, salt and lard mixed and mashed with a fork until the lard was thoroughly blended, then stirred in the eggs and milk. Then kneaded by hand over and over until it was consistent.
