Well, I took a few days off last week and I picked well. Thursday I saw a bunch of deer but nothing really any bigger than a 6pt. Friday Was a totally different story. Within 5 mins of getting in he stand I had deer moving. My target 11pt was first at the crack of day pushing a doe. He never presented a shot until he was @55 yds and that's beyond my ethical limit. Then 20 mins later I had the really big 10pt cruise out of the cane checking scrapes he stopped perfectly broadside @65 and made me want to cry. Then multiple does and and small bucks for the next 30mins. Then right around 8. This guy came out of the cane and checked a scrape and walked right up to 12 yards. Once he got to 12 his spidey senses kicked in and told him something was up. He backed up and tried to circle me but I let him get out to 45 and as he stepped in my shooting lane I let one fly. He wheeled at the sound of the string and ducked his front end. The BlackEagle Renegades & DirtNap B.M.F. held true and unzipped his side and I was fortunate enough it punched through his neck ans cut his main artery. He made it about 80 yards and piled up. Just reminded me why I normally draw the line at 40 yds. I was lucky to see so many and put a little meat in the freezer. Not my biggest buck or the biggest I saw that morning, but I'll take him.
