Who all has seen your bucks starting to shed velvet? Dominant buck on a buddy's property shed his today. Yall think it was the mild/wet summer we had for the early shedding?

Maybe it's the good food from the rain. Most will be right on time in the next couple of weeks. U always have a few early & a couple late.

Yea, these deer are pretty big for the county. About positive it has to do with all the kudzu on the property with it being high protein. Just never seen em this early (always used to about that first week of September)

I just pulled pics this past Sunday , all the bucks are still in velvet on my lease, They look healthier this year, probably due to all the forage because of the rain, but still holding onto the velvet.

You can almost set your clock by ours in the lower part of SC.
