11’2” zone 7 gator.

I was super blessed to take this zone 7 gator Friday night. He measures 11’2” and we estimated him at 400-500 lbs. it’s my first gator ever. It was such a great experience. We put in at 7:45 pm with Gary Frye with happy acres expeditions and we were back at the ramp by 9:30. I couldn’t believe the size of this thing. It definitely won’t be my last gator hunt!
My first arrow passed through the eyelid and held this big bull long enough to get another arrow in him. Not gonna lie I had no expectations of a gator this big. His head is on a 65 qt cooler.

Yea! It was my first one ever! Man, I’m all over google learning about gator hunting now. Haha. Of course I’m sifting through it all to determine the good and bad methods. Hahaha

We got one in 2017 that was 11 feet. It was then we decided we preferred day hunting. You can see them and estimate their size before going after them instead of guessing just to discover they're too small after you hook up. And some can fish while another is glassing the lake.
