Annual Soco creek week cooking last night up here

Been here since Friday night but didn't do much at all. Wife had to go back for a 24 hour shift this evening so I cooked her some chicken thighs, fresh squash, onions, bellpeppers, bacon wrapped asparagus and tater salad. I got some local mater's from a produce stand down the road and they were really good! Looking forward to a week of cooking and fishing up here in these mountains.

Man, yeah! It's a good week to be in the mountains. When I left out from the SC/GA line yesterday it was 96*. When I got home, it was 77*. When I got up this morning, it was 64*.

Had a taste for some homemade deer sausage (hot) since the wife hadn't made it back yet. I picked up this cheese at the produce stand and it's good.

Looks great! That Ashe County cheese is some of the best I've ever eaten. We keep it on hand at all times.

Some quick deer smash burgers, sweet grilled onions and tater chips for supper last night. Any more quick seems to be the way to go. Getting lazy..

How about blackened trout sandwich for lunch. We took the kids again this morning to the ponds cause they actually wanted to go after yesterday. I know there dough bellies but they do eat good.
