Anyone know anything about flashing the computer in a vehicle.

I think it's basically updating all the data in the computer.

Most of the time it requires a data cable that plugs into the diagnostic port and the other end to a laptop. Then there's software specific to year/make/model to do what you need to.

It does require an interface cable specific for that purpose, and a subscription to the manufacturers website for downloading any updates that are available, or reflashing from scratch if replacing a computer, Most dealerships can do it, and some independent shops that have invested in the equipment can do it just as well as the dealership. On most vehicles it shouldn't run over $150-$200 with a few exceptions, some vehicles can take significantly longer than others.
