I have the gas one but since getting an Akorn I've not used it. It did great on turkeys.

I had the gas one and loved it for turkey and chicken. Mine died last year after 7 or 8 years of sitting on my back deck in the weather. Currently have another on the wish list.

Yup....have had one for a long time.

Works well.

I simply brine the bird.....or if in a hurry I'll shoot it up with the Butterball or Creole Butter stuff and hit with a rub, foil the feet & wing tips and let it ride.

I don't use the mesh "lid" until near the end when I'm wanting to crisp the skin some more.
