Chopper crashes on to deer stand

just saw on the news that a chopper that was trimming trees on a power line near Talking rock Ga crashed. It clipped a tree and came down on to someones tower stand, The pilot lived.

Choppers aren't meant to fly

A helo trimmed trees on the power line behind my house a couple years ago. They have about 8 giant saw blades suspended below them and just ease along trimming limbs. It looked dangerous

I don't think they can be rented to do your house.

But someone is trying to figure out how to purpoise a drone for that.

He didn't. Died late this afternoon. Sad.

Very sad. I flew helicopters in the Army for my entire career (except basic training). It's a very exhilarating, exciting career. I flew a LOT of low level missions under NVGs, in Desert Storm and later in Egypt.

It was only when I left flying that I finally realized the danger involved each and every moment you are airborne. Fixed wing is one thing, rotary wing, quite another.

What this guy did was on the edge every single second. No relax time, no easy time in his day. The idea that he might have had a mechanical problem, means certain crash.

You just never know in these things until the investigation is complete.
