So I just got a new wood stove to replace an insert. I have been looking at stove pipe and they seem to have a relatively large margin of price for the same standards and offset to combustibles. Is the difference between products that much or is it a name brand thing.

Is this all interior, as in single wall black pipe that has different pricing? Is it snap lock?

It will need to be double wall inside a chimney chase
Ah that makes sense. Most of the black pipe is the same price, most places. You know i would call a stove place in a couple of cold country states and see what brands they like. That may get you on the right track as far as cost and reliability.

I bought from Bollens Hearth Shop when I built my house. They were a family business and knew their products. I believe they are around Bremen.

Where’s the best place to get the single wall black? Does anyone know the code for going through a metal shop ceiling with 2” of spray foam. As far as how far down from the roof for a double or triple wall pipe?

Usually they have it on the shelf at Lowes or Tractor supply. Ive seen it at the farm supply store also. Most looks about the same quality. As far as distance from the roof i cant remember off hand but the pass through for sure is double wall, or triple wall really as there is a large air gap in the thimble.
