Coon Scents

Does anyone use any scent/lures other than bait when using dog proof traps for coons? Just wondering if this would add to a setup.

I have a couple of coon food lures but I usually just use them in pocket sets.

Bait like cheap cat food is really all you need for dog proofs. A squirt of fish oil or crawfish oil around the trap might help them find it.

That's what I use is cheap dollar store cat food, but didn't know if a scent lure would be more effective.

I like to carry a bottle of used fryer oil. I get from a local restaurant. Great attractiveness and usually free if you can find a local place to get a gallon from.
