Crow predation

I know crows eat meat cause I built a wood platform to put meat scraps on for them. Today though, I happen to look out in yard from window at right time and seen a crow swoop down like a bird of prey and take a blue bird in the yard. I almost went out and intervene, but elected to let nature take its course. Other birds tried to help but it was no use. The crow finally flew off with it. Figured I share never seen it before.

It's not common, but I've seen crows snatch live birds a few times over the years. Ravens do it often.

Crows will even kill and eat each other. I had one around the yard that turned pure predator, a real rough customer.

He ran into a worse predator...

Off subject but deer eat birds too.
