Came down to farm after lunch yesterday. Sat in Redneck blind for afternoon with no intention of shooting…just watching. Deer n pigs fed til they were happy throughout the afternoon n up until dark. This beautiful young buck came cruising thru the field in search of a hot doe.

Son came down this morn n we headed to the woods. Was fortunate to have a group of doe(s) come feeding by me and was able to zip an arrow thru her lungs at 17 yds.

Temps cool enough to let her hang all day.

Time to eat! While son cleaned her up n pulled tenderloins I went inside to start breakfast. Only 2 of us so I used small skillet.

Those are some great looking meals. I’d be happy with either one right now. Congrats on the deer and time with your son.

Just cussed out loud. Got in trouble with the four year old. Looks like a great time with great food brother.

Thx for all the comments guys! I love cooking about as much as hunting at deer camp. Fortunate to have been able to pull the trigger 11 yrs ago on buying rural land and building a pole barn cabin on it that serves us well. Love it as much or more today as I did 11 years ago.
