Garden Electric Fence

I have not dealt with an electric fence since around '79-80, and it was just one wire to keep a dog that liked to climb in a pen. As suspected, I have a couple of deers in the new place that have no fear of me or the boxer and like to bed at the garden edge. They lay tight until I get off the 4 wheeler and then take off. Surprisingly , they are leaving peas alone right now and eating the tops out of okra and an occasional bean. I am sure they will hit them all once the sugars are right.

Any suggestions on an electric fence for the fall? Will cover about an acre and can do solar or plug it in. Is solar the best way to go? I would prefer solar, if economical, since I don't have an outside outlet there and the well house is 50 yds from the garden edge. I can use t posts, but will need some type of gate to get the tractor in and out.

Thanks

Solar is the better option, imo. Isolated from the house juice in the event of lightning. Speaking of which consider a diverter when setting up the fence.
