Lori and I got back from the mountains this past Saturday. We got up there Thursday and enjoyed everything ( except I didn't do any fishing this time.) I met a man from the Castboolits forum while there and finally was well enough to get to the top of Clingmans Dome. With my cancer I never thought that I'd be able to do it.It was 50* and the wind was about 50 mph. And cold, too!
Lori makes it a point to go to Cade's Cove, and we got there a little later than usual, but saw one lone bear and one bear with three cubs, as well as two deer. The turkeys were in full strut, and everywhere....
Saturday we left in time to see several herds of elk in the N.C. side of the park, and even saw a small herd in downtown Cherokee... We got into some heavy rain in Clayton, but is was mostly gone when we go to Atlanta. By the time we got home it was 80* and pretty much normal for our city..
I really did enjoy it, even if I didn't get to fish....
