Ain't that the truth. If you are over 1400 rpm on a diesel, you are either in to low a gear, or plowing to fast. There ain't no checkered flags waving at the end of the field
We use a orange vest. Kinda neat.

I was charging $100 an hour for a dozer back in the late 80's. 8 hour minimum or there was a moving charge also

Must be a little bitty dozer.
Dozers are a dime a dozen. I mean all u need is a semi with a low boy to haul it.

I had a D5 and an 1150 Case loader. Either one would burn 100 gallons of diesel a day. So now, the cost of just the diesel for one would be nearly $300 a day. Wear and tear on the machine, and moving cost would eat up $100 an hour in a hurry and leave nothing to pay the operator. But we all know that a good man running a dozer ain't worth over $7 an hour anyway.

Oh yeah, that's another point.

Need to move the tractor, and all of a sudden all of those members pulling in 30 ft. 5th wheel campers don't have the towing capacity for a 4500 lb. tractor.
