Ice Maker Water Line

Looking for ideas/advice on running a water line outdoors to a standard refrigerator for ice maker. I have PVC lines nearby and that would be the easiest access but I'm not sure the best way to connect to it. Naturally, I would need to make it where I would have a cutoff and be able to drain it for freezing weather. Anyone ever done this and have advice? Moving another fridge to my utility room under carport and it has an ice maker I'd like to make use of.

I don't really know what your set-up is but if you could tee into your water line and go to a valve box

then run a flexible braided supply line from that box through to the refrigerator then you could take it loose and drain it.

Again, I don't know what your set-up looks like or distance from water line to where your refrigerator is going.

You can wrap the water line with electric heat tape to prevent freezing. It only costs aprox $35. at home depot
