Those varmints lay egg clusters on my boat all through the warm months on Lake Seminole. At least we have limpkins down here to eat the snails.

I guess then they have spread from the south and not from someone's aquarium?

As far as I know they are invasive to North America. I`ve been seeing them here for several years now but I remember when there were none. But I also remember when we didn`t have hydrilla either.

I guess I should've clarified

They are already invasive and found in Lake Seminole?

Yes. And also in several of the small blackwater rivers flowing through the Panhandle.
