Jon boat Horsepower

I have a little 12x32 jon boat . Will it tote a 9.9 {84 lbs.} ? Anyone had experience with such a combo ?

My brother had at 1432 with a 25hp on it. It probably wasn't the best option but it worked fine. Having said that, a 9.9 would be no problem.

I've got a 13ft gheenoe with an 8hp and its not an issue

Does it have the U S COAST GUARD sticker that shows the capacities and horsepower ratings? You don’t want to overpower a boat that small, I have a 10ft and it’s only rated for 2.5hp . I borrowed a 12ft and put a motor that wasn’t overrated that much and it worked out but was squirrelly, I believe 6hp is close to max for yours

I had a 12 footer with a 1973 Johnson 9.9 on it. I don’t know the weight but it sat low in the water in the back. If you can raise the transom a few inches it wouldn’t hurt.
