My wife and I have had say goodbye to two cats and a dog in about 2 years.
Sometimes it happens in streaks like that. All the pets are fine and then POW! One right after the other. :( Sidenote it happened to my wife's human family members. Six or seven of them in about a two-year timeframe including all her "immediate/nuclear" family members being her parents and her only sibling, her sister. :(

First of all, sorry for you loss. Pets weave their way into our lives and our hearts. Had to let a +15 cat be put down December 2021. He showed up at our house as a very weak, sad kitten. Vet care and a special diet kept him alive. He would follow me around even when doing yard work. (He did not like the leaf blower!) He ruled the house until the end.

My youngest cat has officially "annexed" the couch. She sleeps right in the exact center, so our dog has to lay on the floor until The Couch Queen temporarily vacates her throne. The dog's "sad eyes" carry no weight with the Couch Queen! :(

Had one we helped deliver. He lived 19 years. Watched after my kids when they were babies and saved my wife from a rattle snake. Would meet us at the end of driveway and escort the car to the house. We moved about five times with him.

He was always the king of the house and yard when it came to other pets we had but was very friendly to anyone that came up.

I'm not a cat person but I understand those that are and the loss of a pet hurts. Been down this road with a few dogs. It sucks..... Hope things get better for your family.

I found Dixie Bob at the neighborhood dump here in East Lake Sinclair. I was dumping my trash on the way to go deer hunting. She came up and did that winding thing around my ankles that cats do. I picked her up and she told me to take her home so I made a deal. I told her I would stop on my way home from the woods and if she still wanted to go then so be it. She was there. That was fall of 2011 about 2 months after I got divorced and was living out in the woods all alone. It took a while but she finally got to trusting me and now she is one of my bed buddies and is usually sitting with me in my recliner. My dog, Red Rocket Bob is very respectful to her. She's pretty special. She's my friend.
