Lanier - It's on folks!

Out on half day trip with Kash today. I found one of the big schools moving bait and sitting on a point not far from where they have been. I'm guessing the wind moved them back a little.

Pulled up on the point and sure enough, on the deep side of the ledge, the Humminbird came alive with "sketti".,,then they were up chasing bait and down just hanging out. Started out with a swimbait and boated 2....then the drop shot for 3 more. Kash and I were working the fish..he boats one then I stick something big and breaks my line after about a minute into the fight. Then the stripers showed up so we picked up the swimbaits and boated 1 of them.

Moved on...another similar point and it was "alive" too....big school. Same baits and boated a few more. Around 10am - the bite slowed...even with the cloud cover and wind. We headed out ot the main lake with no luck. I have heard the crankbait and spinnerbait bite is good on wind blown points but we struck out with that pattern.

Ran back to the creek....fish still there but were now right on the ledge...crankbait - nope....swimbait - nope. But I had noticed earlier that one fish had spit up a little "butter bean" shad...those little ones. So I picked up our Lanier Bait's spoon....casted it up on the ledge and hopped it once..."thump". Fish in boat...did the same thing 2 more times and got hit on first hop. Then it died but I saw some fish down ...so we dropped again, boat one but suddenly - everything just stopped...like someone turn off the switch.

Ended up with 10-11 in the boat with a couple of decent spots. We've already made plans to go again next week! LJ
