Model 7 Stock

I have a Model 7 with what I assume is a walnut stock from the factory. I made a huge mistake and used some very strong bore cleaner without a bore guide. The bore cleaner ran down the stock, stripping my finish. What should I do to repair the stock?

There's several different strippers you can use depending on your original finish. Citristrip works good, its slower than most but is very safe. It's a simple process. You can also take it to a furniture stripper and have it done, then you can stain and finish it.

Use chemical stripper. The above mentioned citristrip works well, just takes time. Dont Sand! Raise any dents with a wet rag and an iron. I'd go with a hand rubbed oil finish and use lots of layers of Tru Oil with steel wool in between coats.
The ones I've done by spraying with poly and/or spar varnish aren't near the athestic quality or nearly as durable as a hand rubbed Tru Oil finish with lots of coats. Dont rush it and it'll look great.
Most likely better n factory.
