No reason to meet them since the odds are so slim they could be respectable.

That’s ok. I’m up here on my beautiful family farm that my great Grandaddy who had been a share cropper beat all odds to get and pay off. Him and my great uncles worked like Hebrew slaves to keep it and thanks to them I’m right here on it living life on land that I belong to and land that belongs to me. Something you dont know anything about and something your kind will never get their hands on. So while you sit down there in that yankee hades scape and laugh at me, I’m up here in land that’s way more than dirt to me laughing at you and the fact that you’ll never have anything like this. Pretty much the same here. Most of it had been stolen over the years by the same folks, and I still have to fight and scratch to keep what little bit's left of it from those who want to take it from me because I'm a trash hillbilly anachronism holding up righteous progress and property values from those pretty people who deserve it.

If you'd been in my shoes, and seen one of the most beautiful places that God created on this planet laid waste and ruined by rich greedy yankeee halfbacks, along with all your people being run off and priced out of their own family farms, you might have a different attitude.

I think our county is as much to blame as anyone. They seem to want nothing more than to have any decent size tract of land busted into one acre lots and let some hacky developer throw up the cheapest houses you can imagine on it and sell them for top dollar. They say our residents need affordable housing but I’ve talked to almost all 20 something new owners moving in beside me and only 1 of them so far was a county resident.

He doesn’t care about that. He’s butthurt and jealous so he’s glad that kind of stuff is happening. Even said so. But he’s a native Floridian supposedly. Whatever that’s supposed to mean.

Well, the first thing rich yankees do when they move here is become members of the chamber of commerce and use their money and connections to either become or buy off county commissioners and set about changing here into a version of where they came from.

Winter is cold and ice storms occur often knocking out power and closing everything down for days at a time.

Pollen is awful. Mite as well have Covid this time of year. Good luck

Summer is blistering hot and it rains ALOT. Bugs are terrible. Relentless bloodsuckers under every leaf and twig. Better not go outside around dark bc the skeeters are the size of hummingbirds. Let’s not talk about all the snakes!

Hunting is tough due to lack of available land. The public land is overrun and incorrectly managed. Fishing sucks and the lakes are full of wakeboard boats and cabin cruisers

Traffic is terrible year round. The restaurants suck. Overall, it’s not a great place to live.

I feel like NGA would be a better place if we all talked about it like this

That’s a fact, when I was in the suburbs, after they made the locals mad by buying the WMA and built the subdivision I lived in, they still wanted a larger tax base and built a bunch of apartments.
Apartments are burb people’s subdivisions. We hate multi family.

Then to get more federal money they need sec 8 housing somewhere and it goes on until they ruin the town and go to where all the people that lefts new area and reset.
I just plan for it now. We have about 10 years here. Max

I think they are dying to break up the land in conservation. I’m sure they are getting 10x taxes on the property beside me now. They got to do something to pay for the millions they spend on pickle ball courts and such since the majority of tax payers will enjoy those. And we need atleast a couple hundred thousand salary for our county manager they hired from several hours away that ofcourse only has the best interest of the county in mind.

The fastest I ever seen growth kill an area was Forsyth County. My parents owned a place on lake Lanier in the 70’s and it was rural. That place grew 50x in 20 years. I was surprised it was over half black now as I only remember one back then at the general store, and we had Klan flyers in the mail box 2 weeks deep when we would go for the weekend.
I guess the lake made the original people’s property so valuable they sold quick.

There are not blacks in Forsyth County. A lot of Asians in the south part of the county by the river..

It’s the wealthiest county in the state these days. And, it’s growing like a weed. A hockey arena will really drive the stake through its heart
