Also may want to go to Madame Tussauds and see all the wax figures. The Queen’s there. Those figures are neat works of art.

How are you getting around town?

Vehicle or mass transit?
Rented a car but in London don't. If it's not very low emissions you have to pay a daily fee for it to be in the low emissions zone. Not to mention driving here is crazy and there's little parking. Got a spot in a lot and just left it there. So paying to park also. Personally I think it's better to have one the other places we've been and yet to go, last night in London. Most people use the high speed train network.

@Roebuck do you happen to know where i might buy a couple nodules of chert? Be nice to have some and try to make a few points later. Pretty sure foraging about the countryside is frowned upon not to mention going through customs and trying to explain where it came from.

Chert? Not heard of it does it have a British name.

Quick edit do you mean flint to make arrow heads?

Another edit - try these guys.

A car in London is a definite no no. As you say congestion charges daily and you need a bank loan to park in central London. The Tube is the best way to move around in London but once outside of the Big Smoke a car is pretty much essential as in the US.

On the original list but time slips away. Gonna try to get the Nurse to Florence Nightingale Museum tomorrow as we leave London for 2 nights in Scotland.

I'll try and get pics from today and previous days posted later.
A few for now.
On the way to museum. I remember my Mom's grandfather talking about these bikes.

Walked up to a pub for supper and a pint last night then came back and crashed hard. Fish and chips. Minced peas. And a Guiness. Maybe the same as mushy peas. Had some that were whole and some mashed. Never been a fan of what we called English peas. These were no different though I ate them. Taste the same whole or mashed. The fish was delicious as were the chips (fries). Tried the fish plain, with vinegar, and with Tobasco sauce. Yes they even have Tobasco and Heinz ketchup @Toliver and. @bilgerat . Tourist tip for yesterday keep some cash. This means coins too. There's 2 and 1 pound coins as well as others. Public restrooms aren't all free. In London some will accept your tap card. That's your credit or debit with the touch less technology that I hate but totally necessary here. When in Salisbury I followed the signs and upon arrival discovered it cost 20p to pee. Exact change only. Had just dropped all my coins in the tip jar at a kebab joint for lunch. Luckily it wasn't an emergency.

Checked out of hotel. Dropped luggage in the car. Walked over to the Florence Nightingale Museum. Something the Nurse really wanted to see. Drove up to Peterborough. Dropped the car with most of the luggage. High speed train to Edinburgh Scotland. 2 nights there.

Kitchenette we didn't really use but was a nicety.

Mostly farmland from the train. Lots of row crops. As we go north more hayfields and sheep. Pics not very good going 186 mph. After trying to get a pic of sheep I give up. Then suddenly there's sheep again. Get my phone and open the camera. Gone. Now there's sheep I get the camera and we're in an underpass. Over and over. Finally get a pic of a few solitary sheep. Smiling I put my phone back in my pocket. Instantly we pass by sheep everywhere. facepalm:

I love a museum and there's lots more pics and of course their phones are much better quality but I will only bore you with a few more.

Already posted these 3 in LFTTand said it was @Jim Thompson in a future life.

Heres some culture. A little art that I liked. Know absolutely nothing about art except when I see something I like then I like it for whatever reason.

In Scotland now. Checked in.

From the train. As in everyday life you see all sorts of things but can't get a pic in time. Here's a few. Of course with my terrible camera.

Looks like you caught a few U.F.O.s in a couple of those. I know you weren't anywhere near Randlesham... but...

Sunrise was at 4:26 am. Sunset will be at 10:00 pm. Curtains aren't extremely thick so did make sleeping in a bit challenging but not too bad. Another tip. If visiting the UK in the summer make certain your hotel has aircon (AC). All ours in England did but it's not as common here. The hotel here in Scotland doesn't but the temps are lower. There's a fan in the room and the windows open. Only slightly so you don't feel someone could get in but enough to, coupled with the fan, bring in a nice breeze. High today of 70° and a low of 52° should be very pleasant. Traditional breakfast coming up at the hotel.

My dad went to Scotland when he was in the Navy. Said it was a beautiful place. He's talked about this a few times.

Enjoying the pics, slo mo!
