I would tell anyone who is thinking about getting into reloading to start slow and buy the best equipment they can afford.

When I started nearly 40 years ago I bought a used press, used set of dies, and a used set of scales. I still have that press today and have added all my other equipment over the years.

My Reloading Equipment

Lyman Spartan Press (I like the open front, makes loading faster)
Dillon 450 (setup to load 223 only)
Dillon 550 (setup to load small pistol primers)
Dillon 550 (setup to load large pistol primers)
RCBS Trim Mate
Lyman Electric Case Trimmer
RCBS Charge Master Combo
Lyman 55 powder measure
Lee Auto Prime
Lyman 10-0-10 Scale
Universal Decapping Die
Case Gauges
Midway Large Case Tumbler
Dillon Large Case/media separator
Hornady One Shot Lube
Pact Chronograph
Corncob Media from Northern Tool
Several Reloading Manuals

Almost all my pistol dies are Dillon, I have used Lyman and RCBS but prefer the Dillon.
My rifle dies are Lyman, RCBS, Redding, and one set of Lee.

Can't over emphasize what wildman said about the manuals.
You will need/want more than one manual, lots of contradicting stuff between all the components.
Be sure to look at the powder suppliers data also.
