Small Food Plots in the Shade - Any Recommendations?

Our club has already planted our major food plots - primarily consisting of about 1500 yards of a gas line and then two fairly good-sized small fields. We planted those in a mixture of oats, wheat and rye grain. They always do wonderfully.

This year, however, we also would like to plant two or three smaller areas on our property. One, is on a heavily shaded creek bottom, full of poplar trees. The other two or three places are heavily shaded small openings at the end of logging roads in a thick 20-year old pine plantation. Do any of ya'll have recommendations as to what might work in these areas? We don't have any year-round food plots. Do ya'll have any ideas what might grow well on poor-dirt in the shade year round? If nothing will grow year round in these areas, what kind of mixture would work well for small fall food plots in shaded areas such as these. They only receive broken-sunlight at best.

Thanks for any assistance.

bigunga1 - Thanks for posting your previous thread. It sounds like we have two similar type places. Have you planted yours yet? I would be curious to know how things are coming along.

I would love to establish some year round plots with some type of clover, but apparently, year round type clovers must not do too well in the shade.
