So.... With This Practically Full Moon and some places already in rut....

Will the Bucks chase Does all night like they feed with a brite moon and just bed down at daylight or will the rest a minute and go back to chasing.

Rut for my first spot "should" be November 3rd and I'm wondering what they do at daylight.

They should be chasing, lil drives the big head when it's ON. The one I shot last year ran himself to death, no fat at all, that was Nov 16th

You know the rut is on the highways are littered with doe carcasses.

...just joking, seriously.
Diminishing moon and increasing darkness is just the ticket going into the rut.

Chasing got so bad around here that I had to have a sign made up that says, "I am not a doe."
It is reflective so that I can shine a small light on it if I hear noises while walking in in the dark.

Hunt when you get an opportunity. With limited days, I do try to pick the ones that suit me the best weather wise. i.e. light wind and cool temps.

Google: Photoperiod...The moon has nothing to do with rut. Nor does a bright moon mean they will be chasing all night. They chase all night regardless of the moon, if they have a hot doe. They do not need the moon for a beacon of light.

Saw one of my good bucks this morning from the house at 7am. My camera went off and does were on a scrape down in the woods at the same time. They are still moving in daylight. Moon has more to do with early and late season feed patterns. The rut is the rut, and anything can happen at any time. Temperature has more to do with movement this month than the moon, at least that’s my belief.
