I’m a big fan of bouncing back and fourth between old spots that I know has birds and new spots I’ve never been or places I haven’t checked in a while. I hit one of my honey holes first thing Saturday morning and left with a big goose egg. I have been eyeing a high mountain flat with an island of spruces and a spring for some time and decided to give it a shot and I’m glad I did. Ended up flushing two in there and finding a drumming log. Good sign that there are a handful kicking around the area. I’ve got a better feel for how to cover it next time too. Love finding new places.
